This is the plain-English version of what happens to your information when you visit shesmalificent.com. I’m one person running a blog, not a company with a data team.

Who runs this site
Shesmalificent is written under the name Malificent. You can reach me at hello@shesmalificent.com.
What I collect, and why
- Email address, if you join the Big Sis Letters. It’s stored with Kit, my email provider, and used to send you letters and occasional notes about my services. You can unsubscribe from any email, and I don’t sell or share your address.
- Basic usage data, if you accept cookies: pages visited, roughly where you are in the world, and how you found the site. This runs through Google Analytics so I can see which posts people actually read. Your IP address is anonymized, and nothing is measured until you accept the cookie banner.
- Whatever you send me. If you email me or book a call, I keep that conversation so I can follow up.
I do not collect payment details on this site.
Cookies
The banner on your first visit asks before anything measures you. If you say no thanks, no analytics cookies are set. If you say okay, your choice is remembered for a year. You can clear your browser’s cookies and site data at any time to reset it.
Services I use
- Kit for the email list
- Google Analytics for visit statistics, only after you accept
- Cal.com for booking calls
- My hosting provider, which keeps standard server logs
Each of these has its own privacy policy. If you use an affiliate link on this site, the retailer may set a cookie to credit me for the referral. That’s explained on my affiliate disclosure page.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the letters using the link in any email.
- Ask me what I have about you, or ask me to delete it, by emailing hello@shesmalificent.com. I’ll handle it within 30 days.
- Turn off analytics by declining the cookie banner or clearing site data.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your data, including under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California. Email me and I’ll honor them.
Children
This site isn’t meant for anyone under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, I’ll update the date at the top. Big changes get mentioned in a letter.
